Antonio and Traore are uncanny, in their resemblance.

Two peas in a pod.

We also paid £40 odd million for Haller.

Traore is one of the most overrated players in world football. Zero end product.

You're right, they're similar.

But Wolves want £50m for him.

Traore, as I've said time and time again.

There's shit loads of strikers out there that can play the position Antonio plays in.

Antonio isn't an enigma. Taiwo Awoniyi looks the part in Germany, plays similar and was purchased from Liverpool for £6.5m.

I agree, the big lad on loan from chelsea to southampton is the one

That's where Rob Newman, etc should earn their earn their crust.

Toney or Traore would be my choices. Admittedly they would be highly unlikely at the moment.

“We should have a like for like replacement for Antonio.”

Such as who?

And therein lies the problem.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
We should have a like for like replacement for Antonio.

We can't just run him into the ground and then say 'don't worry, chaps, we'll play with a 'false 9' system if Antonio is injured.'

Whilst that system does work on occasion for us and should be an option,, we shouldn't have that as an ONLY option.

When we're up against it, backs to wall against better opposition, we won't retain the ball well enough in order for that system to work.

We should always have the threat of a striker who can be the '
'out ball'

We're not Man City or Liverpool,

Such a weird stance, Moyes transfer record has been pretty good

Do you forget about the FA Cup last season against Man Utd?

1 shot on target in 120 mins of football with Yarmolenko up front for a bit, then MIPO up front for a bit, then who knows up front.

You can't compare that to the Carabao Cup this season, as Man Utd played their shitty reserve players.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
I get those bits about closing down etc. but the give and go and movement off the ball was superb.

You can only play the team in front of you and as I say it was just a shame we didnt have that last killer ball.

I can't wait till the weekend

Trundle, if we had signed some cunt on stupid money for him to flop, moyes and co would be ridiculed.

Going into a season where you're gonna be playing up to 60 games with 1 "recognised" injury prone striker isn't sound management, no matter how you want to dress it up.

I think that it's obvious that instead of signing a striker that sits on the bench waiting for Micky's hams to explode he'd much rather sign an attacking midfielder who he could use on a match to match basis then convert them into a number 10.

At the moment we've got Bowen and I am guessing Vlasic is being bedded in slowly to play that role too.

It's sound management from where I am sitting and shows why Moyes is manager and not me.

I thought for the first 20 mins yesterday we were unplayable, in all my time watching I have never seen us so comfortable and looking for the ball. It was Man City esq in their prime.

Blimey.... unlike our fans to go a tad OTT....

We did look good but fuck me they are shit. No closing down and gave us lots of space. Lets not forget Brentford and Palace who mugged us off.

Get a reality check and wait for Sunday.

Ok we didn't have that last killer pass and shot but we must have had 150 passes to only about 20 or 30 touches for them in that opening part.

Fans were excellent as well yesterday. Great day out.

Jelavic weren't a bad player. I just compared him to Hugill as he was more a physical striker suited to holding the ball up rather than being a prolific goal scorer.
